Episode III is up

Dr. Horrible’s third and final installment is up. Go and watch it. NOW.

Sure wish they’d do more. It’s a fresh, new sensation watching this.

Dr Horrible

The first two episodes of Dr. Horrible are out. The 3rd and final is released tomorrow. Go watch them before Sunday, I think that’s when they get pulled.

It’s legendary.

Prince Caspian

So I just went and saw Prince Caspian at the Coral Cliffs Cinema 8 in Hurricane with my sister and bro-in-law. Pretty good show. I LOVED the music. Some parts gave me chills, and I almost felt as if I was going to tear-up (probably because of the music).

I finished reading Prince Caspian a month or so ago while at the gym. They seemed to deter from the book quite a bit.. seemed to be a bit more fighting than I remember reading.. However, it was still a good show. Worthy to add to my collection once it’s out on Blu-ray.

42nd Street

So this week my brother ended up getting permission for me to take pictures at 42nd Street at Tuacahn.

For those that don’t know, my brother is in the show. He’s the one that shoots the gun at the end, if you’ve seen it. Anyway, we tried taking pictures a week ago or so, but we were on the side, and didn’t get “official” permission. The house manager came by 10 minutes into the show and said something like “There is absolutely no photography allowed”, I ended up rattling off some excuse that they bought, but the pictures didn’t really turn out that great (because we were on the side), and I left at intermission. (Free ticket, btw).

So this week, he (brother) ended up getting official permission from “the man” himself. I got myself free tickets on row “U”, which is quite a bit up there, also got one on row “E” (free too), but I never went down to use it, because I was stuck in the middle of the center. Kind of hard to climb over people during the show to walk down to “E” row and climb over more people to get into the center. I ended up buying a new 4GB Sandisk CF at bestbuy yesterday morning just for the event. Seeing how I typically fill up my 1GB and 2GB CFs if I take a bit of pictures. Plus, I shoot in RAW, so it takes up a little bit more. Yeah, I only have a Canon 20d (8 megapixel), but it’s still big enough that 560+ pictures will fill up a 4GBer.

Anyway, I went through most of them today, tweaked levels/exposure/brightness an burned a dvd of them for my brother (so he can make copies for friends in the show), also burned a dvd for my momma. I burned a CD for “the man” at Tuacahn of some of the better group shots that turned out fairly good. 120 or so in total. For those that want to check them out, go here:

Running out of gas

Friday I did a bit of driving. Went up to SLC via Heber City and back to St. George all in one day. Fun stuff. Anyway, I topped off my tank in Springville on the way up. I got back to St. George with a bit of gas left, however, I needed to fill up Saturday before going to Vegas. I showed up to Costco just in the nick of time. I was waiting behind a car in line for the next available pump. While waiting to fill up, my car died. Could not get it to start again. Turns out I ran out of gas. Surprise, surprise. I ended up pushing it into the pump once the car in front pulled forward. The Mexican guy working there helped me. It was quite fun seeing how I ran out just at the right place to run out. Never happened before to me. Hopefully it wont happen again. Good times.

Haggling is an art..

I encourage all of my readers to go read this Article. It is a good one. Since I hate paying full price for anything it rang right at home for me. Go read it. “DO IT NOW!”

Bourne Ultimatum

Went to see the new Bourne flick with Tommy and Mikey last night. I loved it. It was quite the action-packed thrill ride. Well worth the price of admission for those of you that have yet to see it. The only complaint was that Matt Damon looked fatter in this one than the previous ones. You could really pick up on it from the flash-backs. But oh well. It was still great.

Pete sent me this link yesterday. I’ve sent it to most people that I know. But in case you haven’t seen it yet, check it out. I keep laughing whenever I see it.. or whenever I think about it.

“no speak english” .. Soo awesome

How many Spidermen can you fit in a Jamba Juice?

I just saw this on Letterman and laughed so hard I started coughing. Take a gander. 9 minutes. Worthy of laughs.

Last Night’s Stupid Pet Tricks..

I don’t know how many times I stay up late and watch Letterman (yes, in HD.. see last post). But last night was one of those nights where I sat through most of it. The best part of the night were the stupid pet tricks. After they rolled out the pee-resistant rug, Dave brought out “Theresa Carden” from Buffalo, NY and her bearded collie of 6 years, Roswell.

I was expecting one of those stupid pet tricks where a dog does something mildly funny, however, I was in for a surprise. The trick was that there were 10 frisbees thrown around the rug and the dog was supposed to stack them in his mouth as he picked each one up. Ideally, he’d have 10 frisbees in his mouth at the end. Unfortunately, this was not the case last night. Roswell started to get two frisbees going but, I guess, got stage freight. Stopped picking up the frisbees, twirled around his owner on his leash, then eventually just dropped the frisbees in front of Dave. Finally, he had enough of it and started for the side of the stage on his own. The owner couldn’t seem to make him stop, so eventually she got pulled along with him. It was quite the hoot. I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m not sure if you have to had ’seen it’ to laugh. Or if it was just late and the pending sleep was setting in, but, this was good stuff. I tried to find a video posting of the thing, but was unable to :(

Anyway, if you find yourself on Letterman with your dog doing a stupid pet trick.. make sure that your dog is used to a band playing, and plenty of lights and people looking and clapping while he’s supposed to be doing his trick. Nothing more silly than flying into NYC to have your dog make you look like a fool on national TV. However, I think it might be amplified in HD.

Wordpress

Jared told me to upgrade to Wordpress.. said it’s much “cooler” and “niftier” than MT.

So I did.

Seems nifty..
