It’s ordered!

I think I’ve already told most of the frequent readers of this blog that I ordered my 2007 Saab.

Yesterday, I gave Ken Garff Saab my AMEX# for a $500 deposit on my very own 2007 9-3 Aero.

Specs are as follows:

- Jet Black Metallic Exterior

- Slate Gray Leather Interior

- 6 speed Manual Trans

- 17″ wheels

- Cold weather package (Heated Front Seats, High Pressure Headlamp Washers)

- 6 disk CD changer (standard)

- Moonroof (standard)

- 2.8L 6-cylinder 250-hp engine (turbocharged)
So off the order goes into the queue in Sweden. My sales guy said it could possibly get here by the end of November, but more than likely in December. Merry Christmas me, from me.

I’m pretty stoked. If you can’t tell by now.

More New Car Goodness…

WOW. Today I drove up early to SLC to test drive a Saab 9-3 Aero. All they had on hand was the 2006 9-3 Aero. All I can say is.. WOW. After driving it, I REALLY want to get one. It has some great acceleration, killer interior, and it just looks awesome. Plus it’s “safe”. 2007 9-3 Aero Interior
The guys over at Ken Garff Saab in SLC were very helpful and friendly. I was impressed. Got a few email addresses there so I can get some quotes written up. Afterwards, I’ll make a decision and then put down some $500 or so down on my AMEX and they’ll get it ordered. By the holidays I should have my Saab. Plenty of time to get some money saved up and some CC debt paid off. So here’s to me getting a new 2007 Saab. I got a VIN# on the 2006 so I can find out how much insurance it’ll be. Last time I got a quote (a week ago) it was only $400 a year. Not bad. Note the image above is the non-Aero. Though i’m looking for the gray interior. The 2007 Aero image is here (although i’m getting gray interior and manual trans)

Saturday will be a cold day for a tri…

This Saturday is my third Ogden Valley Triathlon in Huntsville Utah. It’s up the hill from Ogden at Pineview Res. Fun place. I have really enjoyed it in the past. Unfortunately, the weather is looking bad. Looking really cold.

High for Saturday: 51 °F

Low the night before the tri: 38 °F
Good thing I have a wetsuit.  It will be pretty cold.

The night I ALMOST locked myself out while BBQing

So this little story just barely happened… figure I’ll write it up while it’s fresh on the old mind.

Being the security concious freak that I am, I typically lock all of my doors and windows.  Not sure what other peoples thoughts are on this subject around Washington, UT, but mine is a little bit paranoid. Since all that I own earthly wise is contained in my house.

This evening I was proceeding to fire up the ‘ol BBQ in an attempt to cook some recently purchased steaks. After scrubbing the grill (yeah, I dont do it after every use, I’m a slacker), I proceeded to heat it up.  Here is where hte problem started.

I have this sliding glass door that opens up to the rear of my house. Unbeknownst to me the dowell that is usually leaning up fell down when I slid the door shut on exit from the home (Yes, I usually shut doors when I enter or leave my home).  Problem.  I can’t re-open the door.  So here I am stuck outside with a BBQ that’s heating up. (steaks inside, along with phone and keys). I’m wearning nothing I should be wearing in public. So I run around to the side of my house.. turn the knob for the door to my garage and no go. I thought I had remembered to open it (sister was coming by during the day to pick up a bed) earlier, but it might have been locked.  But no go.  Same thing with the front door.  “Crap!” I thought.   Jenny has a set of keys but I don’t have her cell number memorized.

After going back to the rear of the house, trying to lift hte glass up and in.. to no avail. I try the side door thinking I could break it open.  Realizing that my hand was probably greasy from the handling of the grill and such, I used my pant leg to help turn the handle and surprise surprise it worked.

Anyway.  Moral of the story.  Make and hide a set of keys somewhere so I can get back into my house should I be in the same circumstance and my door is really locked like it should be.

Time for steaks.
