Joseph Smith & Emma Hale

Emma – 7th child of 9, 3rd daughter

- not as financial well off as the Hales.
- asked Emma’s father 2 times for his daughters hand
- you’re a nobody

- eloped with Emma on a Thursday. Went and lived with Joseph’s family.

Emma and Joseph lived in the ‘pelt house’. Bought from Emma’s father.
Emma could handle a canoe and horses well.. sang in the choir in the Methodist church.

Joseph was 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, blond, blue eyes.
In 1832, February, Joseph received the 3 degrees of Glory revelation.. Shortly thereafer, the mob came and drug Joseph out of the house.
